Trip Includes

  • The tour fees for our guides. Our tour guides are well educated, caring, and professional. Most of them have their PhD's in Church history, archeology, philosophy, languages, or Theology.
  • Luggage handling. Please pack light, one piece of luggage and one carry-on.
  • Dress casually throughout the whole trip. Shoulders and knees should be covered when visiting Basilicas or churches.
  • If you are traveling alone and you allow us to find you a roommate, you don't pay the $900 single supplement. If you wish to have your own room and you are not open to rooming with another passenger, then the single supplement fee is $900.
  • Wheelchair can be provided for those passengers who cannot walk, with prior notice at registration for $150. A traveling companion has to push the wheelchair throughout the trip.
  • At the time of registration, as a part of the total balance, a non-refundable $500 (hotel and airfare deposit) is due in the form of a credit card. For example, if your trip costs $3,700, when you sign up, you pay a $500 deposit, then your balance would be $3,200 and is due 4 months before departure date. If you sign up after the final payment due date or at the last minute, you pay the entire cost of the trip at registration.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Departure from USA.

Day 2: Arrival in Rome, depart for Orvieto. Enjoy an afternoon of a winery tour and wine tasting at Decugnano dei Barbi. Orvieto is one of the most striking, memorable, and enjoyable hill towns in central Italy. Less than 90 minutes from Rome, Orvieto sits majestically high above the valley floor atop tufo volcanic stone, overlooking cypress-dotted Umbrian plains. Dinner and overnight in Perugia.

Day 3: Start around 9:00am. On this day we will participate in an Italian Cuisine cooking class. You will experience authentic cooking surrounded by nature in Umbria. Taste the flavors of regional traditional cuisine and become a real Italian chef for a day. Dinner and overnight in Perugia.

Day 4: Start the day by visiting San Gimignano, known as the Town of Fine Towers, San Gimignano is famous for its medieval architecture, unique in the preservation of about a dozen of its tower houses, which forms an unforgettable skyline. After touring the town we will relax and enjoy a wine tasting. Dinner and overnight in Siena or San Gimignano.

Day 5: We will spend the day visiting Siena which is likely Italy's loveliest medieval city. Siena's heart is its central piazza known as Il Campo, known worldwide for the famous Palio run here, a horse race run around the piazza two times every summer. After discovering the city, we will participate in a cooking class and wine tasting. Dinner and overnight in Siena or San Gimignano.

Day 6: On this day we will visit magical Pisa, there’s much more to it than the Leaning Tower and its rich art history: there are loads of hidden places and a fabulous culinary side. Explore the town and enjoy lunch before visting San Miniato which is a charming village located on top of a hill not far from Pisa. This beautiful place is world famous for its truffles. Here truffles are not just a business but a passion for the local people. San Miniato is a great place not only for a truffle tasting but also for a truffle hunting experience. Dinner and overnight in Lucca.

Day 7: Lucca is a city on the Serchio river in Italy’s Tuscany region. It’s known for the well-preserved Renaissance walls encircling its historic city center and its cobblestone streets which are popular for strolling. On this final day in Tuscany we will attend a cooking class and enjoy classic Tuscan Cuisine. Dinner and overnight in Lucca.

Day 8: Travel to Rome. This afternoon we will visit the Spanish Steps. This is the place where the Romans hung out. From there we will walk to Trevi Fountain, and have time for shopping. Followed by a walk to the Pantheon, the oldest functional building in the world, and then to the great artistic place of Piazza Navona around 4:30 pm. Dinner at Piazza Navona. Overnight in Rome.

Day 9: On this final day we will visit Santa Maria Della just steps from Piazza Navona - worth stopping by. The Raphael fresco is beautiful. For lunch we will stop at Pizzeria Da Baffetto. There will be free time in the afternoon for shopping before we depart to the trendy neighborhood on the river Trestavere where we will enjoy our final dinner and wine tasting. Overnight in Rome.

Day 10: Depart Rome for home.

Please note: We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Pro Catholic Tour's very high standards. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas.
