Trip Includes

  • The tour fees for our guides. Our tour guides are well educated, caring, and professional. Most of them have their PhD's in Church history, archeology, philosophy, languages, or Theology.
  • Luggage handling. Please pack light, one piece of luggage and one carry-on.
  • Dress casually throughout the whole trip. Shoulders and knees should be covered when visiting Basilicas or churches.
  • If you are traveling alone and you allow us to find you a roommate, you don't pay the $900 single supplement. If you wish to have your own room and you are not open to rooming with another passenger, then the single supplement fee is $900.
  • Wheelchair can be provided for those passengers who cannot walk, with prior notice at registration for $150. A traveling companion has to push the wheelchair throughout the trip.
  • At the time of registration, as a part of the total balance, a non-refundable $500 deposit ($500 hotel and airfare deposit) is due in the form of a credit card. For example, if your trip costs $3,700, when you sign up, you pay a $500 deposit, then your balance would be $3,200 and is due 4 months before departure date. If you sign up after the final payment due date or at the last minute, you pay the entire cost of the trip at registration.

Trip Itinerary

November 9 - Day 1: Depart Norfolk (ORF) airport to fly to Lisbon, Portugal.

November 10 - Day 2: Upon arrival, drive to Porto, Portugal. Douro Valley Cruise and lunch (included) on the cruise in Porto. Free afternoon to explore city and bridge over River. Celebrate Mass, Dinner on your own and overnight in Porto.

November 11 - Day 3: Visit Clérigos Church and Clérigos Tower, Harry Potter Book Store, Church Ildefonso, Igreja de Carmo, and Church of St. Francis. Celebrate Mass. Lunch on your own, wine tasting in the afternoon, dinner and overnight in Porto.

November 12 - Day 4: Travel to Fatima, Batalha Monastery, Alcobaca Monastery, Chapel of St. Michael in Coimbra, and old Cathedral of Coimbra. Free time in the late afternoon. Celebrate Mass then dinner as a group, overnight in Fatima.

November 13 - Day 5: Full day in Fatima. Start off the day by going to Mass at the Little Chapel of the Apparitions. You will see the Basilica, the site of Francesco and Jacinta's graves, the Hamlet of Aljustrel, where the children lived, and Valinhos, the site of Our Lady's appearance after the children's return from prison. Experience Christ's love as you walk and pray the Stations of the Cross along the Via Sacra culminating in the Chapel of Calvary, which overlooks all of Fatima. Join pilgrims from around the world in an evening candlelight procession to pray the rosary for the sick and drink water from the miraculous well. Celebrate Mass and time for private devotions/Reconciliation before dinner and overnight in Fatima.

November 14 - Day 6: Depart for Lisbon with a stop in Santarem and visit Eucharistic miracle of St. Stephen, have Mass in the main church, visit overlook park with great views, Convent of Christ in Tomar and Castelo de Tomar. Lunch on your own with free time before we depart for Lisbon. Dinner and overnight in Lisbon.

November 15 - Day 7: Morning mass at the Basilica da Estrela, the Lisbon Cathedral, Church of São Vicente of Fora, St. Anthony, tour the cathedral and St. Jerome Monastery, then cruise on river with dinner before. Dinner and overnight in Lisbon.

November 16 - Day 8: Travel to southern coast of Portugal for Benagil sea cave tour/boat ride, Church of São Lourenço, Lagos old town, visit Cape St. Vincent and Sagres, dinner and overnight in the area.

November 17 - Day 9: Visit Jesus Statue, St. George Castle and full tour of the city of Lisbon. Dinner and overnight in Lisbon.

November 18 - Day 10: Depart for USA.

Please note: We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Pro Catholic Tour's very high standards. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas.
