Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Wednesday, October 7 -  Depart from USA. Arrival the next day.

Day 2: Thursday, October 8 - Arrive at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport. We will meet our guide and head to our hotel in Jerusalem by deluxe motor coach. Once you get settled into your hotel room, we will gather and enjoy an opening night meal. If you are visiting Israel for the first time, you will discover a nation of incredible and diverse flavors. We will stay overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 3: Friday, October 9 - After breakfast, we will travel to the Mount of Olives, The site of many important events in the life of Jesus; The Place of the Ascension, Pater Noster Church, The Dominus Flevit, The Garden of the Gethsemane, and The Church of All Nations (it contains the rock where Jesus is believed to have prayed before His betrayal and arrest).

By this time it will be close to noon, and we will stop for a flavorful, delicious lunch.

After lunch we will visit The Upper Room, the site of the last supper, we will then continue on to visit The Dormition Abbey, (Its name mean eternal sleep) built over the site where the Virgin Mary was laid to rest. We will stop at Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, built over the site of the house of the High Priest Caiaphas and the dungeon where Jesus was imprisoned before his trial. It is also here that Peter denied knowing Jesus three times.

We will return to our hotel where you can relax before dinner and stay overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 4: Saturday, October 10 - This morning we will travel North to the village of Cana and Galilee. We will visit Capernaum and Tabgha on the shores of the Sea of Galilee where Jesus walked on water.  Visit Magdala (hometown of Mary Magdalene).  We will see the ‘Jesus Boat’ in Kibbutz Ginosar, a boat which dates to the time of Jesus and can be used to picture many stories of the Bible and visit Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the ‘Sermon on the Mount’.  In Kfar Cana, we will visit the Wedding Church, where Jesus turned water into wine, for his first miracle.

After lunch we will travel to the city of Tiberias, one of the ‘four holy cities in Judaism.  Gaze across the majestic scenery of the Galilee and see the breathtaking Sea of Galilee up close.

Before returning to the hotel, we will enjoy an evening tour of the city. Once we arrive at the hotel, we will enjoy another delicious dinner of local flavors in Jerusalem.

Day 5: Sunday, October 11 - Today we will travel south to the Palestinian town of Bethlehem. We will visit Manger Square, in the center of Bethlehem and the Church of the Nativity, which now stands where Jesus was born.

After we leave Bethlehem, we will proceed to Qumran, the ruins of the ancient Essene Settlement, in whose nearby caves the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We will ascend Masada by cable-car. Masada is the scene of the epic stand by the Jewish Rebels at the end of the Great Revolt against Rome nearly 2,000 years ago. Our final stop before returning to Jerusalem will be the Dead Sea. It is the lowest place on earth and with almost 35% salinity, you can enjoy a relaxing float if you choose to go in the water, so bring a swimming suit or change of clothes! We will have dinner and stay overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 6: Monday, October 12 - This will be our last day in Jerusalem. After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to St. Steven's Gate where we will enter the Old City. Our tour this morning will start at the Crusaders' Church of St. Anne and the nearby Pool of Bethesda where Jesus healed the paralytic (John 5:2-9). From there we will continue to The Tower of Antonia, where Jesus was tried, and The Church of the Flagellation. This marks the beginning of The Via Dolorosa, the Stations of the Cross, which ends inside the Basilica of The Holy Sepulcher.

We will have lunch in the area. In the afternoon we visit the Wailing Wall (a place of prayer and the most religious site in the world for Jewish people) and The Israel Museum (the largest cultural institution in the State of Israel and is ranked among the world’s leading art and archaeology museums). Before returning to our hotel we will visit the Holocaust Museum, Yad Vashem, Israel’s largest Holocaust memorial, set on the slopes of the Mount of Remembrance on the edge of Jerusalem. After we return to the hotel, we gather for dinner. This will be our last night in Jerusalem.

Day 7: Tuesday, October 13 -  After breakfast we will check out of the hotel and travel to the Jordan River. The river holds major significance in Judaism and Christianity since the Israelites crossed it into the Promised Land and it is the place where Jesus baptized by John the Baptist. If time allows you may be baptized or renew your baptism. If you choose to, you must indicate this at the time of registration.

From the Jordan River, we will begin travelling to Petra, stopping for lunch along the way. Once in Petra, we will tour the city, one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. The stone city of Petra was carved into Jordan’s red rock cliffs more than 2,000 years ago. Once a Roman trading stop and stronghold of the Nabataean Arab kingdom, Petra is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most iconic archaeological destinations. After we will enjoy delicious Jordanian food and share our last night together in Jordan’s capital, Amman. Dinner and over night in Amman.

Day 8: Wednesday, October 14 - We will start our last morning together at breakfast, at the hotel before flying home from Amman.

Please note: We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas. In addition, because of Jewish holidays and/or when the group is small, we may be able to add a few sites that are not on the itinerary. In order to do that, in some cases we might add one night in a certain hotel and take away a night from the other one.
